01 Who we are

Jaypstudios is a photography and video studio based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. It applies to jaypstudios.ca and to the sessions we deliver.

02 What we collect

When you contact us or book a session we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, the type of session you are interested in, preferred dates and anything you tell us in your message.

During a session we create photographs and video of you and the people you bring with you. Our website server keeps standard technical logs such as IP address, browser type and the pages you visit.

03 How we use it

We use your information to reply to enquiries, prepare quotes, schedule and deliver sessions, send invoices and galleries, and keep in touch about your booking. With your consent we may occasionally share news and offers; you can opt out at any time.

04 Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the studio, such as email, form handling, online gallery hosting and payment processing, and with the analytics and advertising tools described under Cookies and advertising, only as needed for those purposes. These providers may store data outside Canada.

05 Photographs and portfolio use

We love to share our work. Unless you tell us otherwise in writing before your session, we may use a selection of images and film from your session on our website, social media and in printed portfolio material. You can opt out at any time by emailing us, and we will honour your request for any future use.

Client galleries are private and shared by link. Please keep your link to yourself if you would like your gallery to stay private.

06 Cookies and advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are needed for the site to work. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site, and the Meta Pixel from Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram) to measure how our ads perform and to show our ads to people who have visited this site.

Through the Meta Pixel, Meta may collect information such as the pages you view, actions you take (for example, sending us an enquiry), your IP address and browser details, and may link this to your Facebook or Instagram account under Meta's own privacy policy.

You can opt out of personalised ads in your Facebook or Instagram settings under Ad preferences, through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada at youradchoices.ca, or by blocking or clearing cookies in your browser. Embedded services such as Google reviews or maps may also set their own cookies under their own policies.

07 Retention and security

We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to respond and for reasonable record keeping afterwards. Session files are kept so we can re-deliver or print for you, and we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect them. No method of storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

08 Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we no longer need it. Email us at j@jaypstudios.ca and we will respond within a reasonable time.

09 Children

Family sessions often include children. We photograph minors only with the consent of a parent or guardian, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our website.

10 Changes and contact
